Maymin, Weisenborn & Co.
Since 2018 Mark Weisenborn LLC has performed model validations, MRA/MRIA remediation, and model risk reviews for banks and credit unions of all sizes based on the FRB SR 11-7 standard which has been adopted by OCC, FDIC, and NCUA.
The firm Principal, Mark Weisenborn, has been building and validating models since 2015, and began in the industry in 2007. Mark served as a model developer at Bank of America before earning an MBA from Yale and Stonier Banking Diploma at the Wharton School. He has validated over 150 models for banks and credit unions of all sizes.
Dr. Maymin earned his PhD in Mathematics from MIT and has worked as an asset management expert for decades. The combination of their talent will be an asset to any client looking to fulfill regulatory requirements while gaining insight on model limitations and areas of potential refinement.
The firm works collaboratively in a no-surprises approach. We develop Recommendations and suggest Action Plans for model risk mitigation. We pride ourselves on reliability, timeliness, and a friendly approach. We are uniquely qualified in the deep topics of bank model risk, which includes Mathematics, Computer Science, and Business.
We validate your models entirely in the USA. As a client, this means less worry about model techniques being sent overseas to foreign jurisdictions, greater accountability, fully cohesive documentation of technical aspects, and better availability of validators when follow-up is needed.
The person writing your Model Validation Report will be the same person who coded all the tests and evaluated the statistical aspects of those tests and will be available to speak with you without a sales filter. We are a team of experts with deep experience in the technical and business skill pillars required to validate models under FRB SR 11-7, OCC 2011-12, FDIC 22-2017, and NCUA Procedures.
